Koukkumetsä is located on the shore of Koukkulampi pond, near the ski resort in Ruka, in Northern Finland. The name Koukkumetsä (“hook forest” comes from an old crooked spruce tree located in the area. The area consists of 11 apartments in 7 villas. There are two villa types: one-family villa or around 90m2 and a split duplex of around 55m2.
The design of the villas is inspired by the surrounding nature of the area and the spectacular Northern lights. The big balcony windows, allow for breathtaking views towards the night sky straight from the living room. The interior design searches for quietness, natural light, roomy stay and furnishing elements follows the Scandinavian style.
The villas are constructed out of massive CLT timber, with exposed timber being a big part of the interior as well. The construction uses sustainable and environmentally friendly materials.
