Tampereen kannen Opaali

Opaali is an eye-catching mixed-use high-rise designed by Studio Libeskind in collaboration with the Finnish ARCO Architectural Office.

Situated in Tampere, Finland, next to the Nokia Arena, Opaali is the second of two towers, standing tall with 16 floors.

7000m2 of hybrid aluminium-steel façade elements, with almost no repetition, and a lot of tilted and non-orthogonal angles on plan and in projection. With 9 facades altogether, with 282 unique façade elements to be manufactured.

Geometria was commissioned to the task of DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly), undertaking precise fabrication modeling of the entire facade, encompassing all structural layers. This comprehensive task extended to the fabrication of the first-floor suspended ceiling and column covers. The work was done for the facade contractor HakaPks Oy.

Additionally, Geometria delivered element assembly drawings for each component and comprehensive installation drawings, facilitating seamless on-site implementation.
